Multiple Profiles (Google Chrome): Setting Up, Using, and Managing
Introduction
Setting up and using multiple browser profiles can be very helpful for keeping settings, favorites, and logins organized, especially if you have multiple accounts. Here are a few examples:
- You have a work account and a personal account.

You work for two different institutions and have an account for each.
- You have one account for general access to most systems and another account for specialized access and permissions.
In this guide, we’ll demonstrate the first scenario. We’ll set up a separate profile so that we can access Outlook using both a Pomona College account and a personal account. In the screenshot below, we’re already logged into Outlook using a Pomona College account.
Setting Up an Additional Profile
To set up a new profile,
- Click on the profile button in the upper-right.
- Click “+ Add”.

A new page will appear to set up your new Chrome profile.
- If you’re setting up a profile for work, click Continue without an account.
- If you want to set up a personal profile using a Google account, click Sign in.
