Connecting to the Claremont VPN on an Apple iOS Mobile Device
PART 1: SETTING UP CISCO SECURE CLIENT
1. Download Cisco Secure Client AnyConnect VPN from the App Store.
2. After it has completed downloading, Tap Open.
3. Tap on the sliding toggle to add a VPN connection.
4. In the Add VPN Connections screen, enter:
TCCS VPN in Description
vpn.claremont.edu in Server Address
5. Tap on Save.
6. You will then see a pop-up asking you to confirm that you want to add a VPN configuration.
Tap Allow.
7. Your device will ask you to enter your passcode.
8. You will return to the app. Slide the toggle to the right to connect.
9. In the Authentication screen, tap on the SELECT-CAMPUS pulldown.
10. Select TCCS.
11. Tap <Authentication to return to the Authentication screen.
12. You'll then be taken to the TCCS Sign In page. Enter your user name as normal and click Next.
13. Next, enter your password as normal and click Sign in.
14. You will see a notification to use the Microsoft Authenticator app to confirm your identity.
15. Duo Push will also ask for verification.
16. Once you have confirmed the notification, you will be returned back to the TCCS log in page to confirm that this is your device.
17. Once the system logs you in, you will be asked if you want to stay signed in. You may choose your preference.
The VPN icon in the upper right indicates that your connection is secure.
You can slide the toggle switch to the left at any time to log off from the VPN.
PART 2: CONNECTING TO THE VPN
Whenever you want to connect to the VPN, you will need to re-enter your username and password. You will not need to choose your campus again. You will be required to further confirm your identity with both Microsoft Authenticator and Duo. This is done due to the very sensitive nature of the data being accessible through your mobile device.
15. In the Connections screen, move the slider to the right to connect to the VPN.
16. Enter your username in the TCCS Sign In page then tap Next.
17. Enter your password then tap on Sign in.
18. Follow the Microsoft Authenticator procedure to confirm your identity.
19. NOTE: Depending on when you last logged into the VPN, you may also have to confirm your identity with the Duo app.
20. Confirm that it is your device.
You are logged in.
